ZETA CHAPTER WINS AWARDS
The actives’ efforts over the past two years to bounce back from hard times were recognized by National at this year’s Grand Chapter conference. Please join the Alumni Board in congratulating them. They really deserve it.
Here’s an excerpt from a letter sent by last year’s Alpha, Mike Popovsky, to Pres. Fry and other members of the College administration that summarizes Zeta’s achievements:
Our chapter received three awards this year and had our efforts over the past year truly vindicated. We received recognition for having a 100% retention rate throughout the pledge period, the Most Improved chapter award (which we are very excited about), and the Distinguished Chapter award for receiving over a 120 on our Mitchell Chapter Standards Report (the annual report submitted by every chapter as a way of evaluating the overall operations of the chapter). We had a 108 point increase from the 2004-2005 academic year to the 2005-2006 year.
I was approached be different members of the Headquarters staff as well as the Grad Officers complimenting me and the chapter on our progress and quick turn around. I speak for the chapter when I say that this is only the beginning for us. We have come a long way, but have a lot of progress to make as we strive to be a model house on campus, as well as in the rank of our national chapters.
I hope that when we open our newly renovated house for an open house party some time in late September, you will all be able to attend and see first hand the improvements of the physical structure as well as to the meet the brotherhood, both from our chapter as well as brothers from other local chapters and alumni and headquarters staff.
Regards,
Mike Popovsky
